~ Taking Photos for Your Pet's Portrait ~
|
|
The best photos for doing portraits are taken at or close to eye level with your pet. For either full body portraits or head studies this technique works best. You know your pet best so pick a photo that best captures your pets temper and character.
Lighting and clarity of the photo are important for capturing the spirit of your pet, so take care in providing photos that are well lighted and focused.
You can submit as many photos that you want as reference. I use these additional photos to clarify any details that make your pet unique. If you have a preference to what photo you want please indicate this in your email. I will review the photos and offer any suggestions or possibly another photo. Unless specifically requested I will pick the best color background that matches or contrasts the pets color.
Photos on the left are some examples of submitted photos that were used to paint the portraits.
